Here’s the weekly collection of shiny goodness.

Irvine Housing Blog invents a new word… Floplords.
Did Eliot Spitzer get caught because he didn’t spend enough on prostitutes? From Slate.com
I’m a sex-positive person, so to be honest I don’t see why consensual sex between adults should be such drama. I can see why his wife would be livid, but what business is that of ours? I’m sure others disagree and see it as a huge moral stain. I will say this though – plainly prostitution is something simply unable to be legislated and policed away despite thousands of years of attempts to do so. All that does is drive it underground into the criminal elements of society. Accept that it exists, legalize it, put some public health standards in place, and tax it.
Dean and Heidi Rinker at Real Estate Tidbits have a great post up in When Should a Seller Lower Their Asking Price?
“If a home has been on the market for two to three weeks, OR has had ten buyer showings, whichever comes first, then it’s time to lower the price.”

Lawrence Yun continues to impress… Way Too Many REALTORS® And yes that is the NAR Chief Economist saying that.
Oh look at the handy chart. Well kids… see if you can tell where we had a real estate bubble.
Dave Smith is awesome with Hyper Local Target Marketing with Images. Great SEO tip!
Jim Duncan asks are virtual tours are a selling point anymore. The gold is in the comment thread. My feeling is no. Virtual tours are just typically annoying ways to see the photos. Plus without good photos no one will click on the tour anyway. So it’s a moot point.
Trevor Smith at Blue Collar Agents – Why clients need the Power of the Donald
I can’t get the video to embed, but here’s the link to the 6 year old that caused the housing crisis. From the Cobert Report. 4 minutes.
It works for pizza delivery… so why not real estate superheroes?
In all seriousness, this is the worst advertising I have ever seen. It’s important not to be in the act of drinking a beverage right on the 1 minute mark. Only on the second viewing did I realize the wedding photos were also the hosts own wedding photos. 2 minutes long. No refunds on the wasted 2 minutes of your life.
Robert Wuhl… “Assume The Position” review of American historical oddities. Just awesomely smart and funny. 29 Minutes long, but really worth a watch. Occasional use of F-Bomb.
Into The Box TV on Bad Real Estate Video. 4 Minutes.
… and you’ve been fed.
