The Feed Bag - Refried and Served Again
June 24th, 2007 The Feed Bag
Here’s all this weeks Required Reading flagged posts from the Feed Bag. Have a great Sunday.
Jonathan Dalton remains in my opinion vastly under read and has one of the steadiest content production out there. Turning a Profit in Phoenix Real Estate grapples with a opportunity for easy money.
Mike at Agent Scoreboard has been slaving away on a great series. I’ve held off linking to it until he completed the fourth post. The Commission Paradox includes links to the first three posts as well. Some deeper thoughts behind the how and why of many commission models.
Morgan Brown at Bloodhound is brilliant and well argued in The responsibility of mortgage brokers and other front-liners in the foreclosure fiasco .
Jeff Brown has a metaphor attack in One Stop Shops Just Don’t Measure Up — Pitchers Aren’t Shortstops I won’t say what it’s about, just that it’s required reading.
Scott Ginsberg is constantly great, but this post has a couple of great videos to watch. If you’re going to Connect, one is really worth watching. How to become the Luckiest Person You Know, Part 3
Pat Kitano talks about Hot Global Real Estate Funds, but that damn graph is like swallowing the chili pepper by accident in a serving of sesame chicken.
I stumbled upon Seth Godin’s classic Really Bad Powerpoint. Much to think about as Seth talks primarily about communication here and Powerpoint as a tool.
I’ll hoot my horn, or at least Cecilia Hutchings horn on Reagent with her non-realtor actual homebuyer looking to buy view in Special Reader Feature - What I Look For In Real Estate Photographs.
John Lockwood has lightning strike twice today with two great posts. Each post is great on it’s own, but read both and try and hold the essential listing paradox in your head. On one hand you have to do something to earn a commission and justify anyone using you as a realtor. On the other hand the listing agent can find nothing they do really matters if the price is right. Emphasis on the word paradox. A Price Reduction is Worth a Thousand Pictures and “If You List Your Home With Me, I Promise to Continue Breathing To The Best of My Ability”.
Tony Gallegos follows up a prior Feed Bag post with Are Your ACTIVITIES Killing or Driving Your Business? Actually Morgan and Tony’s posts make a great combo to read today.
Jeff Turner asks a great question in How Far Is Too Far With Photo Editing? Noting “Just because you CAN digitally retouch a photo, it doesn’t mean you should”. I agree and this is a great post.
…and you’ve been fed.
Every day I scan far too many blogs and writings related to real estate using the free Google Reader . The Feed Bag is simply what struck my fancy as I read. Want to follow my free RSS feed? Subscribe here.
