The Feed Bag
June 23rd, 2007 The Feed Bag
A fairly quiet Saturday, but a couple good pieces to be found. Without planning it, everything fell into a theme of money and getting paid today.
Jonathan Dalton remains in my opinion vastly under read and has one of the steadiest content production out there. Turning a Profit in Phoenix Real Estate grapples with a opportunity for easy money. Required Reading.
Darren Rowse offers great advice in 7 Reflections on Scaling a Blog to a Sustainable Business. Obviously that’s not the goal for most in the Real Estate Blogging world, but the advice is still very applicable.
Speaking of success, Sellsius is asking the question The Pursuit of Happiness - The Most Successful Real Estate Agent Blogger in North America is… It’s an interesting question. No idea if an answer is even possible.
The Real Estate Bloggers dive into Real Estate Appraisals and Appraisers Under the Microscope covering the state of things in Colorado.
Mike at Agent Scoreboard has been slaving away on a great series. I’ve held off linking to it until he completed the fourth post. The Commission Paradox includes links to the first three posts as well. Some deeper thoughts behind the how and why of many commission models. Required Reading.
Craig Schiller makes sure the check clears in Home Stagers Aren’t Popeye, So Home Sellers Don’t You Be Wimpy!
Stewie Griffen (Family Guy) gives Brian until 5 o’clock to get him his money in Where’s My Money? Not safe for work, violence and generally tasteless.
…and you’ve been fed.
Every day I scan far too many blogs and writings related to real estate using the free Google Reader . The Feed Bag is simply what struck my fancy as I read. Want to follow my free RSS feed? Subscribe here.

Unless someone posts their deals, we’ll never know who’s making hay from blogging and how many bales it works out to be. Maybe zillow will start publishing tax returns of realtors so consumers can know who has been successful (joke).
(Oh oh, I mentioned zillow, which means David G will be stopping by. Sorry Athol. And sorry David for giving you extra work. BTW, David, if you ever leave zland, I would love to have you on my team—though I probably couldn’t afford you

I agree JF. It’s all going to be murky for quite a while assuming we ever find that answer.
Also if you really want to mess with the Zillow peeps (or anyone in general), just put the word “Zillow” in your meta tags. It will ring their bell every time your post.

“Unless someone posts their deals” “Don’t know if an answer is possible?” “It’s all going to be murky”…?
Yeah, it’s terrible really. Someone you guys like and believe should post some numbers up there.

You got us John. Yeah, we are curious about the numbers. People ask us “so if I do this blog thing, how many clients can I get?” Answer: How the hello do we know, but bloggers DO get clients. Next question: “Well how many does a good blogger get?” Answer: Beats the hello out of us. It’s all very hush-hush.
BTW, We dont have to like anyone —but we like just about everyone (jab, wink)
