Bristol Connecticut Finally Gets A Virtual Tour Real Estate Agent

April 24th, 2007 Connecticut, Deeper Thoughts, Family Life, Geekage and Blogging

Jordan2After that shameless self serving SEO brown nosing Google title I feel like I need a serious scrub with a wire brush and something alcohol based to cleanse my soul.

Anyway…

I switched to Prudential Connecticut Realty (I have to say the whole thing, it’s the rules) about 6 weeks ago. I’m finally getting to the point where I’m starting to master all the new goodies and have gotten the blog up and running a little better.

For those following the plot, the Listing Tour went up two weeks ago with minor fanfare. One of my promised listing goodies was a Virtual Tour. The minor wrinkle being I hadn’t done one yet. It’s what my new friend John Lockwood would call “better living through BS”.

So I buckled down and had a crack at one. Not perfect, but seriously reasonable. The big woo-hoo factor is that as far as I can tell, no one else in Bristol does one. So that makes me instantly different from anyone else. How good is that. I figure I got a six month head start before the copy cats start, so have to get cracking on it. Actually if you read the listing tour I’ve got about 5, I say, I say, FIVE no one else in Bristol does this stuff marketing goodies.

Also apart from some slight teething troubles I’ve suddenly, passionately, fallen in love with www.Floorplanonline.com the official Pru, gah forgot sorry, Prudential Connecticut Realty, Virtual Tour vendor. Three reasons;

It seems to produce a pretty decent virtual tour product. The only down side is that if you don’t have high speed internet, it’s a bandwidth hog to say the least.

I can burn a tour to disc and mail them, or just have them on my laptop and show them while online. I.e. at the listing appointment. WYSIWYG being the point.

It gave me a widget! And YES! It creates a webpage for me with all my virtual tours of all my listings on it. Less work for me, more content. Gotta love that.

Y’know, I’m starting to feel like Michael Jordan, when he just got that look…

    Well, speaking as your fan:

    Promising something you haven’t done yet isn’t BS necessarily, unless you’re promising free brain surgery or something. If you can do it in principle and offer it, what the heck. But I do love being quoted! :)

    After any “shameless self serving SEO brown nosing Google title”, what I usually do rather than go for the wire brush is think about the illuminati milling about, and grin from ear to ear.

    I viewed it as “creating reality by setting intentions”. ;-P

    I only seriously pull the SEO trigger once in a while and it always feels a little contrived.
